It was really hot…

Last night my house got up to about 86 degrees inside.  It was in the 80s-90s all day.  I wanted to die.  I miss A/C.

One of those weekends…

It’s been forever since I updated the site…I’ll worry about filling in the holes later.

One of those weekends…
It was one of those weekends when my time didn’t feel like mine.  My in-laws came over to celebrate mother’s day and I spent a great deal of time yesterday moving things out of my garage, into storage.  I was fairly sore afterwards so I didn’t bother working out.

I did watch Survivor last night.  The guy I wanted to win came in third, so I fast forwarded through most of the finale.  That’s the bad thing about these reality TV elimination shows.  Once the interesting people are gone, there’s no point in watching it anymore.

On Sunday I worked in the yard too.  My wife came out to tell me she couldn’t find the dog and one of the doors was open.  I told her to check in the house and the back-yard…no dog.  I couldn’t believe the dog slipped past me.  I got in my car and drove over to the main road to make sure she didn’t go where there was bad traffic.  I looped back around to the subdivision area to see if I could find her.  I finally found her three streets over.  I opened the door and told her to get in.  Usually she loves being in the car.  She heard me and took off like a shot.  Keep in mind this is a beagle that’s easily 10 pounds overweight.  I’d never seen her run that fast.  I closed the door, put it in drive and sped in front of her.  I threw the car in park and ran her down.  I was pretty made about that for a while.

The news said someone got run down by the MAX light-rail train on the east side of town.  I honestly don’t know how someone managed that.  He lost he legs at the scene and died later at the hospital.  I’m thinking it had to have been a suicide.  You’d have to try hard to get hit by one of these trains.

It’s getting really hot in Portland.  It should be in the 90s today.  It’s too hot and my rental house doesn’t have A/C.  I’m buying a small A/C unit for my bedroom to at least have one part of the house that isn’t way too hot.
